The premise of the new Pepsi MAX ad is the same from the 1995 original, one of the better loved commercials from Super Bowl XXIX: Delivery drivers from the rival soft drink makers form a short-lived friendship in a diner over music. The first ad's song was The Youngblood's "Get Together." This time around it's "Why Can't We Be Friends" by War. The actor playing the diner owner was one of the drivers in the original ad. The AFC North division champ Steelers beat the wildcard Ravens to move on to host the AFC Championship game against the New York Jets on January 23rd.

The wildcard Packers defeated the NFC South champ Falcons 48-21 to advance to the NFC Championship game against the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field on January 23rd.

The wildcard Jets beat the AFC East division champ Patriots 28-21 and moved on to the AFC Championship game against the Steelers in Pittsburgh on January 23rd.
